ABOUT US
A group of friends with the desire and passion to share the emotions we felt when we first started paddling in the sea of Procida.
ISlaND of PROCIDA
The smallest and lesser-known in the Gulf of Naples. Colourful, authentic, rich in scents and bustling with life. We’ll tell you about it from an unusual point of view.
Known to all as Arturo’s island, it was the set of the film ‘Il Postino’. Procida stands out for its typically Mediterranean charm made up of pastel-coloured houses, narrow alleys, fishing boats framing small hilltop villages and volcanic coastlines. Procida is another word for slow life, a quiet and unspoilt place, far from chaos and hectic life.
Procida and the islet of Vivara have always attracted the attention of populations coming from the sea: Mycenaeans, Greeks, Romans and Saracens, tracing their historical and cultural roots back to very distant times.
From the sea, the island appears almost as if asleep in time, lying on the water, waiting to be awoken by the curious gaze of the observer. The 16 km of coastline are characterised by a sequence of beaches, coves and large bays created from the remains of former volcanic craters. They appear jagged, stratified, eroded and shaped by the waves, distinguished by the prevalence of the yellow tufa colour and the dark colour of the volcanic sand. This makes it perfect for exploration by kayak.
